Hello Michael:
Just a couple of observations.
I am still in the middle of writing my own truncated summary of this, that amplifies a previous note i had made on this. However my observations FWIW:
(i) The 2 main parts - (i) "The first important lesson from this conflict is that it has confirmed what Marxists have said for some time: while the U.S. is still an imperialist Great Power and the most important global player – together with China – it is no longer the hegemon. "
-> I fully agree with that. Surprising, but that was contentious here about 6 months ago if I recall right.
(ii) "A second important observation is the fact that Pakistan’s military came out of the conflict surprisingly successful. . . . India’s warplanes were shot down by Chinese-made J-10C jets with Chinese PL-15 missiles and aided by Chinese intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance support, it was a test between China’s advanced military gear and that of France (and Russia). "
->Â Exactly right. In fact this short lived fight/war on this occasion was a form of a "critical weapons test". The manufacturers, and in especial the US and Chinese strategists are watching this with care.
In a very real sense this was a war by proxy. The whole of the regions has become that, as I pointed out in relation the Bangla Desh eruptions recently.

-> These parties have already - long ago - demonstrated a "political collapse" and it is quite unsurprising. Most of these parties have in varying ways rejected the multi-national character of the Indian state. This is an aspect that touches on the very essence of the Kashmir conflict. At least in its earliest manifestations. It has become since increasingly embroiled in the intense inter-imperialist conflict. I do not here comment on the use of the repetitive 'Stalinist' to describe these parties. In relation to these parties it is particuarly inept as a characterisation.

<div>(i) The 2 main parts - (i) "The first important lesson from this conflict is that it has confirmed what Marxists have said for some time: while the U.S. is still an imperialist Great Power and the most important global player – together with China – it is no longer the hegemon. " </div>
<div><em>-> I fully agree with that. Surprising, but that was contentious here about 6 months ago if I recall right. </em></div>

<div>(ii) "A second important observation is the fact that Pakistan’s military came out of the conflict surprisingly successful. . . . India’s warplanes were shot down by Chinese-made J-10C jets with Chinese PL-15 missiles and aided by Chinese intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance support, it was a test between China’s advanced military gear and that of France (and Russia). "</div>
<div><em>-> Exactly right. In fact this short lived fight/war on this occasion was a form of a "critical weapons test". The manufacturers, and in especial the US and Chinese strategists are watching this with care.  </em></div>
<div><em>In a very real sense this was a war by proxy. The whole of the regions has become that, as I pointed out in relation the Bangla Desh eruptions recently. </em></div>
